With summer and wedding season just around the corner, it’s time to start planning your party outfit. To get you in the mood, we asked three of our favourite bloggers to show us how they get dressed for special events. Think colour, print and those all-important extras. Inspiration indeed.
“This outfit is perfect for all the weddings I’ll be weeping at over the summer. The beautifully swishy, silky dress makes me feel like I’m going to a prom in the 1950s, especially paired with this ultra-soft cashmere cardigan and surprisingly roomy suede clutch. The shoes offer trademark Boden comfort for swaying under the moonlight and, like most British people, I’m ignoring the fact this is The Land Of Rain and have donned my sunnies. Just in case, right? Now all I need is my Prom King in his blue suede shoes to drive me off into the sunset in his pink Cadillac. A girl can dream.”

“I absolutely love getting dressed up, especially for wedding season. It gives me the perfect excuse to shop for anew dress, crack out theheels I’ve been waiting months to wear and I have the perfect excuse to experiment in the accessories department.”
“While I’ll be wearing a rather special white dress for my first wedding of the year (my own!), I’m also attending a few weddings overseas this summer. This yellowsundress makes for perfect wedding guest attire, especially if you’re heading to an exotic location. It’s a lightweight statement piece with bold stripes, so I’ll pair it with a simple whitescalloped clutch for essentials and a rather fancy (but very comfortable) pair oflace-up heels in a complementary navy. It would also look fantastic with sandals and a wide-brimmed hat for a beach-side celebration.”

“Aside from the weather, one of the best parts about summer is getting dressed up for events. From rooftop gatherings and weddings to parties and more, there are so many opportunities to put on a special outfit and enjoy the season. I do a lot of traveling for work, so I always need to pack outfits that work for meetings, running from appointment to appointment, as well as client dinners. Anyone who knows me knows that I love bright, cheerful colours! This Pixie dress in yellow immediately grabbed my attention – I love the all-over clover pattern along with the white trim.
When it comes to accessorising my outfits, I tend to go one of two ways – monochromatic and matchy-matchy or I add a contrasting tone to help the outfit pop. This red suede clutch does just that, plus the bow is so cute. In terms of shoes, I tend to gravitate towards a high heel, but when a flat sandal comes along that’s as amazing as these tassel ones, I have to buy them! The subtle yellow accent fringe is the perfect addition to the look.”
