There’s no denying it, Christmas is well and truly on its way. We’re celebrating both the festive calm and the festive chaos because what’s December without a bit of ‘me’ time and a bit of mayhem?
To help us get in the spirit, we asked two lifestyle blogger-photographers to choose the pieces they’d love to find under the tree on Christmas morning. Here’s hoping Mr Claus is listening…
Natasha of Candy Pop makes her case for enjoying a little bit of calm over Christmas:
“I share simple and easy ways to calm and inspire my readers because I have a passion for all things harmonious and serene. The soft grey tweeds, pale cashmere jumpers, fur trims and hints of gold are the perfect classic pieces to stand the test of time. During the festive chaos, I enjoy finding a bit of peace and tranquillity with muted tones, twinkly fairy lights, greenery and candles. The calmness helps me to relax and unwind during one of my favourite holidays.”
“I’ll be giving my sofa a Christmas makeover with Boden’s festive cushions. My wardrobe will also get a seasonal boost in the form of a Christmas Breton (the snowflake version is my favourite) and a pair of leopard-print heels – a statement print is always welcome during party season.”
Flying the flag for all things bright is Xanthe Berkeley, photographer and film maker:
“I love filling my camera frame with colour, movement and things that make me smile, and I also love making Christmas colourful by decorating the tree and our home as vibrantly as possible. I think that’s why I love the striped sweater so much!
“The seasonal Bretons also stole my heart – I’m thinking baubles for Christmas Eve and pom poms for Boxing Day. Christmas Day is all about dressing up in a special dress. The floral kimono dress with its pops of red make it so festive, especially when paired with red velvet shoes. Here’s to a very colourful Christmas.”
“Hello party dress! In a sea of seasonal black, I’ll stand out for all the right reasons in the elegant-with-a-twist floral Robyn dress.”
“Pom poms AND stripes! What’s not to love about a Christmas Breton?”
“Have shoes, will party. Is there anything more festive than a pair of red velvet Mary Janes? Trouble is, there’s so many other pairs I have my eye on… the sparkly slippers, the red and emerald suede wave courts, the slip-on trainer AND the Cleo flat points!”
