This month we’re celebrating a true wardrobe icon that needs no introduction: the dress. For work or play, come rain or shine, the dress is your wardrobe’s BFF that can always be relied upon to take the drama out of getting dressed. Minimum effort, maximum impact – it’s our fashion rule of thumb.

Here at Boden, we put our dresses on a pedestal because we’re so proud of how they’ve turned out and, to prove it, we’re dedicating the entire month of February to their greatness. To help us execute this exercise in inspiration for you, our dear customers, we recruited some of our favourite style writers, bloggers and influencers to model their personal favourite dresses.

Something for everyone? But, of course.

Olivia Purvis in the Boden white lace dress

Olivia Purvis – What Olivia Did
“If there’s one thing more classic than a Breton stripe, surely it’s a white lace dress? Perhaps it’s the inner Birkin lover in me, but with sandals, trainers, Glastonbury wellies or heels for the office (straw basket optional) – it’s the one thing I swear by and this little number has my Sixties seal of approval.”

Celia dress as worn by iamkristabel

Kristabel Plummer – I Want You To Know
“The Celia dress has a slightly ’70s feel with the fluted sleeves and I love the colours in the ditsy print. You can style it with knee-high boots while it’s still chilly outside and then swap for metallic pumps when the weather cheers up.  It’s such an easy shape to throw on every day and I guarantee at least three compliments an hour.”

Mary orton in the boden fleur fitted dress and red coat

Mary Orton – Memorandum
This is one of my favourite dresses of the collection because it’s the perfect sheath for in or out of the office. It also has one of those season-less floral prints that Boden do so well that looks as good in February as it does in July.”

Jenn Lake wears the Boden Eleana knitted dress with a stripe coat and spotty heels

Jenn Lake – Style Charade
“The late Winter and early Spring months are all about transitional pieces and layers. The Eleana knit dress is the perfect texture for this time of year – it works perfectly with tights and a sweater or all by itself. When looking for complementing layers, my heart skipped a beat when I found this red striped coat, I absolutely love the colour contrast. For me, the polka-dot heels, striped Vita clutch and skinny belt pulled the whole look together. Not only does Boden have the most classic clothing pieces, but their accessories are on a different level.”

Forever Amber blogger in the Martha dress

Amber McNaught – Forever Amber

“I loved  the Martha dress because of three main things; stripes (which you can never go wrong with, as far as I’m concerned), the retro-style collar (which gives it a really timeless feel) and, of course, the pockets – I’ve never been able to resist a dress with pockets!”

Sade Akinsanya blogger at In my Sunday Best in the Boden Lara Wrap dress in denim

Sade Akinsanya – In My Sunday Best
“The sun is (sort of) shining, birds are tweeting and daffodils are peeking  through  the  ground  which means one thing, SPRING! The Lara  dress is perfect for twirling in spring showers and the fit and cut make it perfect for both day and night. Plus, who can say no to a chambray dress? I chose a bright chunky necklace for a pop of colour and the Joanna slingbacks for a touch of  ladylike  playfulness.”

EMily Johnston of Fashion Foie Gras in the pink posy shirt dress

Emily Johnston – Fashion Foie Gras
I was initially sold on the unique print, but when the dress arrived it was the fit that really had my hooked. The posy shirt dress is the most flattering dress I have ever owned.”

Not such a model mum Jessica in the Eden wrap dress in blue florals

Jessica Arora – Not Such A Model Mum
“My dress choice is bold yet understated. The print itself isn’t overpowering, making it easy to wear for any occasion. The fabric of the Eden dress is lightweight and the wrap style is timeless. And, most importantly, I know it will suit my body shape no matter how much it changes over the years.”

Noelle downing in the boden jessica dress in red with campbell heels and a cashmere cardigan

Noelle Downing – Noelle’s Favorite Things
“I chose the Jessica dress because, firstly, it’s red, my favourite colour, but it’s also this wonderfully flattering shape that accentuates my curves in all of the right places. I added the cropped cardigan because I thought it was a cute ‘smart’ look and I finished it off with the Campbell heel. These shoes are so comfortable and for heels that’s a very unusual quality to find.”

Briony Whitehouse, blogger at A Girl A Style in the jessica medal print dress

Briony Whitehouse – A Girl, A Style
“For work, play and everything in between, a dress is always my answer to those ‘I have nothing to wear’ mornings (it takes just 10 seconds and I’m dressed; no wrangling with shirt-skirt combinations required). The Jessica shirt dress is the perfect style for the office: the cut is flattering in all the right places and the medal print is anything but boardroom-boring. I’ll take three, please.”
