The Shoreditch Story

London’s creative quarter provides a brilliant backdrop for our smarter everyday clothes, styled with a contemporary edge.  Our Creative Director Justine Tabak shares why we chose this location for our leading autumn story plus a handful of her must-see spots.

“We chose Shoreditch as it represents a new sense of heritage. A historical area which has invigorated the heart of London and is full of culture, cool new restaurants, cafes and shops. A great mix of heritage and modern. We’re a British brand so always on the hunt for new places in the UK that are interesting. Shoreditch, Spitalfields and Columbia Road are places we our customers would love to visit whilst in London.

We also loved the colours of the architecture as a backdrop for our clothing collection. Brick walls, old stone, painted shutters on the buildings, great painted panel walls and old tiling in pubs. The whole area has a richness in colour and texture.”

Justine’s favourite haunts

The English Restaurant  For scrumptious breakfasts, lunch and dinner, not to mention their afternoon tea.

Pellicci’s An art deco ‘greasy spoon’ café for the best fry up.

Other favoured spots are Golden Heart Pub, a traditional east-end boozer on Commercial Street, Spitalfields Market for antiques, cool boutiques and great restaurants and Columbia Road on a Sunday for beautiful flowers, quirky shops and garden ephemera.

Can you think of anywhere cracking we’ve not clocked?

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was wondering what all is needed to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% sure. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi Margaret,

Most Tumblr and blogspot blogs are free to get started with. We suggest choosing a basic template for now to get yourself started and once you’ve found your way you can always upgrade to a more detailed template. Best of luck and let us know if you feature any Boden in your posts!

      Kind Regards,
      Boden

Hi Margaret, I have a blog set up via Blogger.com (blogspot.com). I had no idea how to start a couple of years back but have found Blogger pretty easy to follow, free to use and easy to maintain. Good luck.
